I was at the local Salvation Army yesterday and came across this small, ceramic version of a potbelly stove (?). It has a chimney that needs to be glued back on (it's in place in the first pic) and the "burner" comes off, to reveal a hole in which a matching flower pot shaped container sits. At first I was wondering if you could put a candle in it?? Or was it for a plant (it would have to be awful small!) ?? Anyone ever seen anything like this? I don't see a maker's mark anywhere. It was only $5 so I couldn't resist bringing it home. I don't know where I'm going to put it and I haven't decided if it's interesting and cute or tacky! LOL

It is interesting and cute; nothing tacky bout it!  I'm sure you will find the right spot for it.  You always find the interesting things.  We love seeing them as always.  Don't forget to let us know where it lands.  Evelyn

Rochelle, what a neat find!! This reminds me sooo much of the potbelly wood stove that my Dad had in his mobile home..in his livingroom... Looks a whole bunch like his!!  Whenever we'd go back home to visit him during the cooler months, he'd have his going and his home was always real nice and toasty!  How big is your mini pot belly stove?

Thank you for bringing back another beautiful memory recall of my Dad and his potbelly stove Rochelle!

Years ago when I was taking a ceramics class, a woman was making two of these to make into lamps. I don't see the purpose of the flower pot though. confused

It is a cutie.  Great find.

Hmmm. A lamp? That's an idea. I think it's about 20" or so. I don't know yet where it's going, it's still on my kitchen counter.

Is it possible that it's a candle warmer? If you placed a votive holder in the flower pot, and then put another candle inside~ I don't know, just tossing things out there, it is cute though.

Could it be an incense burner?

Dear Rochelle, what a cute find.  I think I'd use it as a candle warmer too.  Guess you could put some dried flowers in it with gourds around it for fall, too.  I like Punky's lamp idea too.  I am sure you will come up with a fantastic idea for its use; you always do.

Enjoy.
