My sister and I went to a consignment store yesterday that we didn't know existed.  It really isn't far from my house.  Anyway they specialize in furniture and decor.  When we walked in I told my sister that it wouldn't take long.  Almost everything in there was European, Asian, African, or Modern.  There "was" one lone country/prim item.

This blue crock bowl.  Now you know I couldn't leave it there, and doesn't it look nice with the table runner I got at the ts last week (oh by the way, it's not really a table runner....it was a curtain panel).

I use my crock bowls.  This one made up really good muffins for the kids for breakfast this morning.

My mom use to use a big ole crock bowl when I was a kid to mix up cookie dough.

And voila, the end result.

Love the bowl color.  It looks so good with the runner/curtain.  I'm a sap for those type of tablecloths & curtains.

You're soooo bad! Showing that yummy bowl and muffins I can almost taste! Love the runner too, I have a pile of that same fabric. I always thought they were towels but used them as runners just as you do.

Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Oh Scrappy I am sooooo jealous! Green with envy, really! I love old crock bowls and that blue is my favorite color! It honestly never entered my mind to use my crock bowls for anything other than decorating. You have opened my eyes to new possiblities! LOL! I must shop for more now! wink

That is a very cool blue bowl.  I'm so glad you snatched it up - it probably felt so out of place there.

Those muffins don't look too bad either.  Dern it - now I have to make some muffins.

It's so gorgeous!!! I just recently found a blue one too but it's darker in color. The one you found is to die for!

Oh, I have never seen a green one!  Must keep my eyes open now.

There was a blue crock bowl at my aunt and uncle's auction.  It got out of my price range from the git go.

At first I thought the runner was a table cloth that had been made into a runner.  A friend of mine bought one at an antique mall around here and that is what it was.  However, this one has a salvadge on both sides.  Then on further inspection I saw where one end has a place for a rod.  I never knew that made curtain panels like that.

I make all sorts of things in my crock bowls:  muffins, breaks, cookies, brownies, biscuits.  I love them.
