Hello! I picked up the cabinet tonight. I told my dh I was going to wait until tomorrow to decorate it, but we all know how that goes! LOL!

It's 11 pm here and I of course have started decorating. Here is what I have so far. I don't know that I will leave it like this, but it's a beginning. I will take better pics tomorrow when the room is brighter.

Any suggestions would be welcome as usual! happy

Thank you all so much for your compliments on my cabinet. I am still tweaking a few things here and there with it, but am still happy I got it. I was worried it wouldn't fit in with my prim decor, but it worked out great. Leaving the glass doors open and hanging quilted runners on them helped a lot! I am looking forward to decorating it for the holidays!

Looks great! I think it'd look neat to close one of the cabinet doors every once (change in season, etc.) in awhile to change things up.

Where did you get your sign "The Gathering Room?"  I love it.  I've searched on ebay but can't find one that I like.  Thanks.

Lisa, I did buy my sign off of Ebay, but I can't remember who the seller was. I bought it over two years ago. I did a search also on the phrase, but didn't find one like this. I make my own signs now so I haven't shopped for signs in a while. If nothing else, I could order the stencil and make one for you, or you could make it yourself!. I order all my stencils from folk art from the harbor. She used to make most of my signs for me, but then covinced me to try them myself. She taught me step by step how to do them. I am hooked! I have a booth in a craft/antique mall and sell a lot of my signs there. It's so much fun! Let me know!

Dear Debbie, I'm going to do some internet surfing, but I also have been thinking about making my own signs since I just can't seem to find the ones that I really like and when I do, they is always something about them I am not happy with.

I love folk art from the harbor and maybe I'll get some of her stencils and give it a try.  You said she taught you how to do it?  That is really nice.  Maybe she wouldn't mind helping me too.  I'll email and ask.

Thanks so much - you are too sweet.

Lisa, I already emailed Becca at Folk Art about the stencil. She asked me to email her a picture of it and she could make one similar to it. She said she was on her way out the door on vacation and wouldn't be back till Friday. I'm thinking, if she does make it, we could each order it from her. Seriously Lisa, it is soooooo easy to make these signs! Plus, she has the instructions right on her website. And, if you have any questions, I can help too!

Oh Debbie, I've been going through all her stencils for the last two hours - such fun.  I saw that she was getting ready to go on vacation.  I would most definitely by from her.  As a matter of fact, I had a bunch of stencils in my cart and went to look at something and when I came back the cart was empty (ugh).  But it's fun to look through them anyway.  Should I go ahead and place an order for the sign now or wait until she is back from vacation, or should I email her?

My goodness, she has the cutest stencils.  I had been on her page before but never realized she had so many wonderful designs.

I am excited.  You are too nice.  Thank you so much.

Lisa B.

P.S. I read her instructions and they do sound pretty easy to follow.  I'm going to give it a try.

Lisa, if you are just ordering stencils from her stock, I would go ahead and place an order. If you want to wait on the stencil "The Gathering Room " that I am having custom made, I will let her know that you want one too. Just let me know.

I told you the instructions are so easy. I will say, some people make them different, but I love the way Becca's signs turn out, so I stick with her way. You are gonna have a ball making them! I do!

Yes, I would very much like to have one.  Just what I've been looking for.  I'm going to go ahead and order stencils now and then I can just get the Gathering Room when it's done.

Now I'm excited.  I'm with you - her signs are sooooooooo different.

Thanks again very much.

My friend and I buy our stencils from Homestead Stencil Co.  They are really reasonable and have great sales.  I make my specialty ones on my computer but get the rest from there....
